The Fox gets the Cheese

The Fox was in a bad mood. It was Saturday and he should have gone to class with Pepper, but, instead, was sitting at home with Cookie. Pepper had gone alone because it was her evaluation day. Today she would learn if she was ready to go to advanced beginners and prepare for her Canine Good Citizenship test.

Fox lay by the front door, waiting for Pepper to come back with the news. Deep down, he hoped she would do well, but on the surface, he hoped she would not pass. Fox was very unhappy.

Then, his highly sensitive nose picked up a very pleasant sent. He went to the doorway and looked into the kitchen.

There was Dad, cooking up grilled cheese sandwiches! Fox licked his lips. He knew Dad wouldn't make one for him, as little dogs don't usually get a grilled cheese all for themselves, so, he sat down and began setting up his plan.

When the moment was right, The Fox put his plan into action and this is what happened:

The First Move The Second Move

When Dad was finished with the first sandwich, Fox went for the grilled cheese!

He gave Dad a very sad, hungry look. Dad is a push over. He held the sandwich where Fox could get it.

Success

And so, The Fox had a very good lunch.
